We were lucky enough to meet up with Cassandra Rhodin owner of the gorgeous childrenswear brand Mini Rodini whilst she was in London recently. She took us through her new “See you later Alligator” collection for SS15, inspired by the fishy life under the aquatic surface. And it went swimmingly!
Suzanne was chatting away to her in Swedish – I feel like it’s a language I might need to master as so many people in this industry are Swedish and I’m starting to feel left out! Anyway – without further ado – here’s what she had to tell us….and be aware – we have some hot gossip within….
When I saw Sienna Miller on a recent cover of Grazia leaving The Tonight Show in NYC – I developed one serious girl crush. How can someone look like that AND be a mother of a young child??? It’s just not fair! At that stage in my twins’ lives I was covered in their phlegm or bits of food and ALL my jeans had holes in the knees – and not in a fashionable way – in an ‘I’m-down-on-the-floor-with-my-kids-whether-I-like-it-or-not’ way.
But let me put aside the ridiculous beauty and let’s drill down on the dress.Oh yes – very nice – Celine resort SS15 collection. Here it is on the catwalk.
Not cheap – but in case you have won the lottery – either as the actual lottery or getting married an oligarch – it costs – well, a lot of money. BUT BUT BUT your little girl can get a similar look for a fraction of the price with this dress by Billieblush £45.74 Melijoe.
Pint-sized catwalk style for your little loin-fruits? Happy to oblige. Get busy!
..in a Barbie Worrrrrrrrrlllld blah blah blah plastic, it’s fantastic. OK OK – I don’t want to show you up with my fabulous singing. But I need to share something new with you. A Moschino Barbie!
Oh I am just such a tease! This one’s very annoyingly not for sale! Genius head designer for Moschino Jeremy Scott took inspiration from Barbie no less, for his SS15 show. All those lucky enough to go to the show was given one of the Barbie dolls on their chairs. What a WASTE when there’s a set of identical twin girls aged almost 8 out there…
Anyhow! Here are what the real-life dolls looked like on the catwalk…
Now – the show was a veritable explosion of Bubblegum pink – being Babs’ signature colour. The collection is available to buy now on NET-A-PORTER. But, for your little girls, I bring you my top Bubblegum pink pieces so they can launch into SS15 in true Barbie style! Let’s go…
