Unless you have been living under a stone, you will have heard the build up to the most anticipated films of the year – errr in fact the last ten years – Star Wars – The Force Awakens. And fashion is of course on the bandwagon. Now those of you that know me know that I am a little bit sick in my mouth at any licensed product but I have to say, I have managed to pick ten pieces that are, well, out of this world. Look…
Let’s quite literally kick off with these beauties by Adidas £45.
As Obi-Wan Kenobi says “Your eyes can deceive you. Don’t trust them” – this zip through looks super expensive but is cheap as chips £9 – oh yes George at Asda.
We give our kids healthy treats. They don’t drink fizzy drinks, they don’t eat chocolate or sweets – only dried fruit. We are good mothers.
Or are we? Actually, we are not according to a brilliant film ‘That Sugar Film’ by Damon Gameau. Join me on Saturday November 7th at the next Smart Thinking For Kids UrbanExplorer event for all the family. The film will be screened and discussed in a Q&A with not only the director himself, but also a panel of experts including the sickeningly healthy looking and beautiful sisters from Hemsley + Hemsley, Merrilees Parker and others.
The film is a documentary about one man’s journey to discover the bitter truth about sugar. Damon Gameau embarks on a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, consuming only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’. Through this entertaining and informative journey, Damon highlights some of the issues that plague the sugar industry, and where sugar lurks on supermarket shelves.
‘That Sugar Film’ will forever change the way you think about ‘healthy’ food. Here’s a snippet.
Tickets are from £10 which includes a treat bag and a kids goody bag and trust me, this will be the best money you spend this year after all, it’s not just for this screening, it’s for life! Get busy!
Happy May the 5th. The Tuesday that feels like a Monday, that is so depressing after a lovely, long weekend. However – I’m here to cheer you up! Star Wars fever is building! The new trailer is out. It’s…well, I suppose super exciting to those people who love Star Wars. But whatever. What I’m super excited about, is that as of yesterday – May 4th, Star Wars Day – the amazing – and let me tell you when I say amazing – I MEAN it – Courage and Kind Star Wars collection launched in Harrods.
Now I am a mother of girls. I’m happy that way. Happy in our pink, glittery universe. Except – when I went to the launch of Courage and Kind – a brilliant new brand in association with Disney.
Now, I had low expectations naturellement – I mean has anyone ever seen stylish licensed clothing??? Anyhow, I went to the launch to see their first two collections – one for Cinderella and one for Star Wars – and the Star Wars one in particular – blew me into style orbit. And then made me pine for a boy! Look….
Cinderella is how I feel in my house sometimes. We replace the wicked step-mother with the busy husband, and the ugly sisters with my naughty twins and BOOM – I’m Cinders. Everyone’s go-to slave. But I digress…
Unless you have been living under some stone – you will know that Disney have been very busy creating a brand new live-action feature inspired by the classic fairytale, “Cinderella” starring Cate Blanchett as the evil step mother. Here she is at the Premiere. Clearly in nice actress mode.
The film is released on 27th March in the UK and as if the film itself is not enough of a draw – Frozen Fever – the new short created as a follow-up to Frozen, will be shown before. To warm the audience up, so to speak. This is one kids cinema visit I am beyond excited for!!!! And there’s more!
