It’s now spitting distance until the kids break up. And with all the excitement around the build up to Xmas comes the inevitable moaning – I’m BORRRRRRED, can I play MINECRAFT, can I watch TELLAYY – or maybe that’s just my kids? Either way – it would be good to have some fun activities that do not involve cursed Screen Time! So here is one of my favourite Christmassy ideas from pal of the blog Babble Dabble Do – Mini Winter Terrariums.
This is an amazing blog where you will find ideas for art, design, science, and many other projects for kids. Ana the owner believes in the power of art, design, science, and other problem solving projects as a way to engage young imaginations. I believe in anything that gets my kids fingers away from keyboards or remote controls!
To make these you will need:
- An assortment of clean glass jars, lids optional (I recommend lids if you have younger kids! Ooh I’m a poet)
- Table Salt £0.80 Tesco
- Pebbles (from the garden?)
- Mini Animal Figures – these Deer ones from Etsy are lovely
- Hot glue
- Spray paint and primer, optional if you want to paint the lids
Now what you need to do is head over to her blog and get your kids very busy. And on Thursday – you have to tune in if you want to live and learn from the master (moi), how to make a Gingerbread House with, and for your kids!
