Do you ever have one of those days when you feel like CHUCKING out all the “new technology” and introducing some good old fashioned fun into the children’s playtime?
Well the good news is, I have found a toy with a fun twist on a childhood favourite – Tegu building blocks.
The twist is the hidden magnet inside each Tegu block, which allows you to create structures that were not possible with regular building blocks. And the fun, well that’s obvious! We’re all dreaming of producing our very own genius architects no?
Not only are they great for the imagination but you’ll be doing your bit for charity too. Tegu are partners with a school in Honduras (the location of their factory) called AFE which was started to provide an education for the children whose families work at the Tegucigalpa city trash dump. Tegu donate a portion of their profits both to the school and to a replanting programme to help replenish Honduras forests that have been devastated by tree-cutting.
Double whammy – hours of creative play for our kids whilst helping a worthwhile cause.
The starter packs come in a handy and may I add, rather stylish pouch, easy to fit in your handbag. Definitely a good alternative to the iPhone to keep them entertained when out and about.
Tegu blocks from £16.50. Available from Amazon.co.uk
