So, the incredible woman that I have video interviewed for you today, needs no introduction to you whatsoever if you are a mother.
She has been every mother’s Fairy Foodmother, giving us guidance to take us through what the hell we should feed those teeny tiny humans we brought on to this earth wailing, so they could grow and grow.
And hopefully, if you are lucky, get them to eat and try a wide variety of home cooked, easy to prepare meals. Annabel Karmel MBE.
Annabel is a mother to 3 grown up children who very sadly list her first child Natasha when she was only 3 months old. Her son Nicholas was born within a year of this tragic loss and was a very fussy eater. And as a mother who had lost a child – you can imagine how stressful that must have been for her. Annabel started making up recipes in a hope to get her son eating, which worked, and so she shared them with the mothers of her Baby and Toddler Group. And the rest is history. Well, kind of.
Switch that baby brain on and cast your mind back to those heady days of summer. Remember – the warm breeze, brushing against your tanned, toned skin? OK – my baby brain took me into Kate Moss’ body – I’ll correct that – remember the warmth of the sun on your skin? The sand, the sea, the s…..creaming kids?
Well, today whilst we can’t make the sun warm and shine BUT we can give you some great style tips for next summer. That’s because today, we interview Heidi Gosman from heidi klein and let me tell you – she OWNS summer holiday style!
In 2002 Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein launched heidi klein one stop holiday shop in London’s Westbourne Grove. From this, they have grown to a second store and a super successful own-brand that sells in over 150 stores in 39 countries globally. Celebrity fans include Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo and Jennifer Aniston. And crucially, for us Kid Style Junkies, last year, they launched a collection for girls age 2-12Y and now, they have launched a line for boys – which takes inspiration from classic all American resorts such as Key West, Newport Beach, Long Island, and Cape Cod.
Oh I do love to chat, and my favourite kind of chat is about kids fashion. Especially with people who know what they are talking about.
Pearl Lowe is not only a mother of 4 – which pretty-much makes you a kids fashion expert – she’s also an established womenswear designer, having designed bespoke dresses and a full line of womens and kids fashion for a high street retailer.
You cannot be a stylish mother and not heard of this woman. One of the founders of the blog and shopping portal Babyccino Kids, Instagram star and mother of probably the four most beautiful children you have ever seen. Oh and she is is gorgeous too. And stylish. Ugh. I have to say that I have tried really, really hard to pick her apart. I N.E.E.D. to hate her. But I can’t. It’s so annoying. She’s really nice.
So Courtney and her family have lived in London for the last 12 years and have decided to slow their busy lives down, by going on a world tour for a year. Kids have been taken out of school, house has been sold, husband has left his work. They are really doing this. Which, by the way, is another reason for me to want to hate her. But I can’t. Instead, I wanted to know more. So we met for a chat about where they are going, what she’s taking, fussy eaters, favourite shopping haunts, being in a marching band and some exclusive scoops. Check it out….
There you go. I told you she was nice. So make sure you follow her on Instagram to keep up with all her beautiful images of her year of summer, and then look out the window at the howling cold and rain, or finish your fight with your kids over homework and try really, really hard not to hate her. Bye bye for now Courtney, London will miss you!
