So – had enough of winter? Bored of the freezing cold? STOP. Stay inside. And get your kids busy with these….
Super nom, super simple and NO COOKING REQUIRED! Follow these steps to Cookie No Cooking Heaven!
You will need:
- Some plain biscuits or a variety of plain cookies – we have Hob Nobs, Curls and Shortbread Rounds.
- Sprinkles/Sweeties for decoration
- Icing Sugar – use as much as you need – no measuring required!
- Water for mixing icing sugar paste up
- Food colouring gels (optional – but oh so preferred!) available from Cake Kraft.
- Willing little helpers
Sift an amount of icing sugar into a bowl.
Add a little water bit by bit and stir to achieve a spread-ably sticky icing paste. If you add too much and the icing is runny – add some more icing sugar to thicken.
If you are using different colours – split the icing paste into a few bowls.
To add colour to the icing take a cocktail stick/toothpick and dip the tip of it into the coloured gel. The gel is very strong so you really do not need a lot! Wipe the colour from the toothpick into the bowl with the icing paste, and mix with a fork to even out the colour.
Now – depending on what cookies you are using – either dip the cookie into the icing paste or spread icing paste onto the cookie. And whilst it’s wet, add sprinkles/sweets. We had a little production line going…
Here are some ideas for deigns. My 5 year olds did these. So no excuses about difficulty!
Leave the cookies on a plate/platter to dry for at least half an hour and then…..STUFF!!! Besides – it doesn’t look like it’s going to be bikini weather for a while….
