The Hasseltssteeg Residence, Amsterdam

The design details in this remodelled 17th century home in a historic Amsterdam neighborhood set it apart: dotty and dinosaur wallpaper, a cast iron roll top bath and a pretty pastel blue Smeg fridge to name but a few. Set over 4.5 floors, it sleeps up to 8 and has plenty of space for all the family. The Sayulita Loft 2, Sayulita, Mexico

If you don’t already know about this Mexican hippy chic fishing village, consider yourself let in on the secret. Sayulita is one of the country’s hippest beach retreats, a pretty village where people use golf buggies to get around, kids surf from an early age and private yoga lessons are the order of the day. This industrial chic apartment, one of a series on Kid & Coe, is a two-minute walk from the beach and has a restaurant on site for the days when you don’t want to cook. Holiday Dreaming – LUX Resorts

OMG. It is BITTERLY cold in the UK. My fingers are almost frostbitten as I type this. The husband/heating arguments are in full bloom. It’s time to take ourselves off somewhere. Somewhere warmer. To a little bit of Paradise.

Ahhh – now that almost feels a bit bit better already eh?

My family and I have just returned from a holiday to the very beautiful island of Mauritius. When we were there, we spent a brilliant day at LUX Resorts flagship resort, LUX Belle Mare.

Now, LUX Resorts were not really on my radar until Penny from Heidi Klein told me it was one of her favourite family resorts when I interviewed her. In fact she has created a bespoke line of bikinis especially for them. I hate to say it but I had the impression prior to that, that they were a brand that was aspiring to be Luxury – hence the name. Oh how very, very, VERY wrong I was.

mifold – the grab and go car booster seat

Urgh! I have just seen another jealous-making invention. Why oh why oh why did I not think of it???? mifold. Let me explain. Car booster seats. No. That’s not the invention of course. mifold is in fact the opposite of a booster seat. Instead of boosting the kids to the seatbelt, it shrinks the seatbelt to the height of the kid. DOH!!!!

Summer Summer Summer (Smith & Family) Time

Ahhhh, sun, sea and …OK so that got you into this mess in the first place.

Now what I was not prepared to do once I had birthed those offspring of mine – was give up on going to nice places on holiday. Yes – good for the kids – but not having them in my face all day. My face was to be upright pointing at the sun – or buried in a good book. If you don’t have that – it’s NOT a holiday. It’s what I call – same rubbish – warmer climate!
