Unless you’ve been living under a stone, or possibly on Mars, you will have heard that this week it’s the first EVER Global Kids Fashion Week. Sponsored by online über boutique and pal o’ KSJ Alex and Alexa to raise much needed funds for the brilliant charity Kids Company.
I was a super lucky little blogger to be invited to GKFW’s first day of action – a runway show for Autumn/Winter 2013 collections. And we’re not just talking any old collections. No no baby. Do you know your fashion ABC’s?
This was the line up…Anne Kurris, Billieblush, Boss Kids, Chloe, Diesel, Fendi, I Pinco Pallino, John Galliano, Jottum, Juicy Couture, Junior Gaultier, Kate Mack – Biscotti, Kenzo, Kickle by AlexandAlexa, Little Marc Jacobs, Marni, Milly Minis, Missoni, Nike, Oscar De La Renta, Paul Smith Junior, Rachel Riley, Roberto Cavalli, Roksanda Ilincic, Scotch R’Belle, Scotch Shrunk, Simonetta, SuperTrash Girls, Suzanne Ermann, Tommy Hilfiger, Wildfox . And there was no time to ZZZZZ.
There were cameras flashing, beautiful celeb mums (how do they look THAT good?! Bitches!), gorgeous kids wearing gorgeous clothes, great activities for kids including a ‘mini manicure’ bar run by GKFW partner, LittleBU, an interactive Blogger Lounge , a DJ set from model Amber Le Bon, champagne, a tonne of gorgeous and I mean depressingly gorgeous fashionistas and erm..me.
According to research firm Kantar Worldpanel, sales of kidswear have risen 6% year on year to £5.12bn in 2012. These days, propecia anyone who is anyone in fashion has a label, plus there are a host of new start-ups and kids only brands. It’s about time the industry got the recognition it deserves (I’m on my soapbox now!) – and who better to do that than the company that is a big contributor to that bottom line – Alex and Alexa.
I caught up with Alexa the owner, we chatted kids clothes and bubbles – as you do. I told her she is one person who has no excuse for a bad look on her boys. I also asked her if she shops on the high street too – and she does! She loves the boys clothes at Gap and H&M. Anyway – she was delighted her boys were well behaved in the FROW – which they really were. I asked her is she had bribed or tranquilised them – or both. I think she knew I was joking…
If you’d like to do your bit for Kids Company – you can get involved with the auction which launched Monday 18th March. You can bid online at www.gkidsfw.auction-bid.org for lots such as – get your kids outfitted in amazing brand Molo and shot (erm not literally..) for Baby&Me magazine!
So there you go lovelies – thanks to KSJ, even if you weren’t in the FROW you can be in the KNOW!
